As May wraps up, we’re back with a fresh set of insights from the world of business aviation. Each month, we explore how the industry is moving — literally — by tracking where flights are heading, which airports are buzzing, and which aircraft are clocking the most airtime.
In this month’s breakdown, we’re spotlighting the key developments across the globe: Europe’s top-performing airports, the most-traveled routes, and the jets leading the charge in flight activity.
Curious how this compares to April? You can revisit last month’s highlights for a quick comparison.
With Q2 in full swing, business aviation kept its momentum going strong. Thanks to our partners at the EBAA, we’ve got a clear view of how May shaped up — and the skies were busy.
A total of 69,370 flights arrived across 1,098 airports, showing a solid uptick in activity compared to April. Business demand remained steady, while warmer weather and seasonal travel gave flight volumes an extra push.
May kept business aviation buzzing, with nearly 5,000 aircraft flying high. Turboprops stayed in the lead, touching down 16,240 times. Light Jets weren’t far behind with 12,422 arrivals, and Super Midsize Jets made their mark with 8,554 flights. With spring in full swing, both work and play kept planes busy in the sky.
Paris Le Bourget stayed firmly in the lead in May, welcoming 2,452 arrivals — the clear favorite for business aviation. Nice Côte d’Azur held onto second place for the second month running with 2,310 flights, proving its seasonal appeal is more than just a momentary spike. Geneva Cointrin International followed with 1,453 arrivals, remaining a key gateway for both business and leisure travelers across Europe.
Business aviation continued its steady climb in May, with flight volumes rising alongside the growing travel season. Corporate travel remained strong, complemented by an increase in leisure flights as spring gained full momentum.
Notably, Nice Côte d’Azur kept its position as Europe’s second-busiest business aviation airport for the second consecutive month, indicating sustained demand rather than a one-time surge. Paris Le Bourget maintained its lead, while Geneva continued to play a key role as a reliable hub for both business and leisure travelers. Together, these airports highlight the ongoing balance between corporate activity and seasonal travel shaping the skies this spring.
May saw continued steady growth in business aviation, maintaining a positive upward trend. The highlight of the month was EBACE in Geneva, the leading European business aviation event, which brought increased attention and activity to the region, underscoring Europe’s role as a key hub for innovation and industry connections.
At the same time, major airports like Paris Le Bourget and Nice Côte d’Azur remained crucial gateways, linking important business centers with popular seasonal destinations. These patterns reflect the strong and ongoing momentum in corporate aviation as 2025 progresses.
