At the beginning of 2022, only about 595 pre-owned business jets are for sale worldwide.
The record low number of aircraft for sale in the pre-owned private aircraft market has caused prices to rise by several tens of percent. At the beginning of 2022, only about 595 business jets are for sale worldwide, which represents only 2,4% of all active business jets in the world. Compared to February 2021, the number of aircrafts for sale decreased by 738 pieces. This effect significantly affected the market, which turned into a position suitable for the seller. For comparison, in 2010 there were 2680 pre-owned business jets available for sale on the market.
Despite the fact that commercial aviation and travel in general are severely affected by the pandemic, the private jet sector is experiencing increased demand for their services. It is the low number of pre-owned aircrafts for sale, but also the decrease in the number of new private jets being delivered, that contribute significantly to this trend. The increasing number of people interested in buying private jets and the declining number of aircrafts available for sale have created a very competitive market.
