Fresh numbers, fresh insights—it’s time for another round of Stats from Above!
Each month, we zoom in on the key movements shaping business aviation: the hotspots, high-traffic routes, standout airports, and the jets everyone’s flying.
In this edition, we’re unpacking the trends from March. From Europe’s busiest runways to the aircraft clocking the most airtime, here’s what the data tells us. Curious how things stacked up in February? Head over to last month’s Stats from Above for a quick comparison.
Let’s dive into the March numbers, courtesy of our partners at the EBAA. With Q1 wrapping up, flight activity is clearly gaining altitude. March brought more movement across the skies, signaling a strong end to the quarter. A total of 1,027 airports welcomed 53,690 arriving flights—a noticeable uptick from February as both business travel and seasonal getaways kept the skies busy.
March saw a solid bump in overall activity, with 4,320 aircraft in operation throughout the month. Turboprops once again topped the list, logging 14,113 arriving flights. Light Jets followed with 9,854, and Super Light Jets rounded out the top three at 6,697 arrivals. As winter tapered off and spring travel picked up, these numbers reflect a steady climb in both leisure and business aviation demand.
When it comes to the busiest airports, Paris Le Bourget held firmly onto the top spot with 2,220 arriving flights - a clear favorite among business travelers. Geneva Cointrin International followed with 1,302, continuing its strong performance, while London Luton remained in third place with 1,059 arrivals. The consistency across these key hubs highlights their importance as go-to gateways for both corporate and seasonal travel.
March’s steady climb in air traffic points to a business travel season that’s kicking into full gear. With the quiet of February long behind, momentum has been building - and March clearly delivered.
Corporate travelers, entrepreneurs, and frequent flyers were back in the skies, leaning on private and chartered flights to keep pace with packed schedules. Activity surged through key hubs like Paris, Geneva, and London, where meetings, deals, and high-level events kept runways busy.
While March didn’t bring any standout events to spike traffic, the consistent upswing in business-related travel kept the momentum going. The steady performance of top airports like Paris,Geneva, and London reinforces their role as critical links between Europe’s financial, diplomatic, and commercial hubs. It’s a sign that corporate aviation is not just back - but building strength as 2025 moves forward.
