Stats From Above — April 2026

How spring gave new momentum to the network

May 8, 2026

April marked a visible expansion in European business aviation activity. As the season moved deeper into spring, operational intensity increased across both regional and international corridors, supported by broader airport participation and growing aircraft utilization.

From above, April 2026 reflected a market operating with higher density, wider reach and stronger network continuity across Europe.

The scale of April

Business aviation activity expanded significantly during April, reinforcing the seasonal transition into a more active operating environment.

A total of 63,024 arrivals were recorded during the month across 1,367 active airports. Operations generated 27,796 unique airport pairs, confirming the continued depth and flexibility of the European point-to-point network.

The market also recorded 4,792 active aircraft, highlighting broad fleet participation across multiple operational segments.

April demonstrated a network moving at greater scale while maintaining strong regional connectivity.

Airports that shaped April

Activity concentrated around Europe’s established business aviation centres, with several airports continuing to function as core gateways for corporate and private traffic.

Paris Le Bourget recorded the highest number of arrivals during the month with 2,131 movements, followed by Nice with 1,535. Geneva and Milan Linate each recorded 1,395 arrivals, while Farnborough completed the leading group with 1,045 movements.

These airports continued to support high-frequency operations connecting financial centres, seasonal destinations and regional business corridors.

How the network moved

April traffic remained heavily concentrated on short and medium-range routes linking major European business centres.

The most active airport pairs included

  • Geneva — Paris Le Bourget (154 flights)
  • Paris Le Bourget — Geneva (154 flights)
  • Paris Le Bourget — Nice (124 flights)
  • Milan Linate — Rome Ciampino
  • Rome Ciampino — Milan Linate

The concentration of traffic on repeatable, high-frequency city pairs underlined the continued importance of operational efficiency and rapid regional access.

Italy, France and Switzerland remained particularly active throughout thenetwork.

Country flows

Cross-border traffic in April remained overwhelmingly European in character.

Approximately 94.2% of arrivals originated within Europe, confirming the region’s continued dominance in business aviation activity during the spring operating season.

The strongest movement flows were concentrated between France, Italy, Germany, Switzerland, the United Kingdom and Türkiye, reinforcing the importance of intra-European connectivity across both corporate and leisure-linked operations.

Aircraft segments in April

Fleet activity in April reflected a balanced operational mix across regional and long-range missions.

Light Jets recorded 10,649 arrivals, continuing to play a major role in short and medium-range connectivity. Turboprop aircraft maintained strong utilization across regional routes, while Heavy Jets generated 6,775 arrivals during the month.

Activity also remained strong within the Ultra Long Range and Super Midsize categories, reflecting continued demand for flexible long-range operations alongside dense European traffic patterns.

The overall fleet mix highlighted a market prioritizing practical mission capability, operational efficiency and network flexibility.

Industry moment — AERO Friedrichshafen 2026

April also included one of the major annual gatherings for the European general and business aviation industry — AERO Friedrichshafen 2026.

The exhibition once again brought together manufacturers, operators, brokers and aviation professionals from across the sector, reflecting the strong momentum currently visible within the market.

Jetron attended the event and was pleased to reconnect with partners, clients and industry colleagues throughout the exhibition. This year’s edition delivered strong engagement, productive conversations and a positive atmosphere as the industry moves further into the 2026 season.

Jet of the Month — Dassault Falcon 6X

The Dassault Falcon 6X represents a new generation of long-range business aircraft, combining intercontinental capability with operational flexibility tailored to modern business aviation requirements.

With its wide cabin design, advanced flight systems and strong short-field performance, the Falcon 6X is positioned for operators requiring efficient access across both major hubs and more operationally restricted airports.

The aircraft continues to strengthen Dassault’s position within the ultra long-range segment, particularly among European operators seeking a balance between range, cabin comfort and mission adaptability.

As fleet renewal activity continues across the market, aircraft such as the Falcon 6X reflect broader demand for newer-generation platforms with modern operational profiles.

April 2026 reflected a market operating with confidence and continuity. Activity expanded across Europe through a combination of regional efficiency, strong fleet utilization and increasingly dense operational connectivity.

As the season progresses, the European business aviation network continues to demonstrate both scale and adaptability across a broad range of mission profiles.
